How to Calculate Attendance in KL University ?

To calculate attendance in KL University based on the provided policies, follow these steps:

  1. Required Attendance Percentage:
    • For most programs: Minimum 85% attendance is required, with condonation possible between 75% and 85%.
    • For BBA-LLB, LLB, LLM programs: Minimum 70% attendance is required, with condonation possible between 65% and 70%.

    • Calculate the number of classes attended by the student (denoted as A).
  3. Attendance Percentage:

  4. Condonation (if applicable):
    • If attendance falls between 75% and 85% (for most programs) or between 65% and 70% (for BBA-LLB, LLB, LLM programs), condonation is possible with submission of required documents (medical certificates, etc.).
  5. Attendance Marks (if applicable):
    • Attendance marks can be awarded based on the distribution guidelines approved by the Dean Academics.
    • Marks are awarded based on the attendance percentage within specified ranges (e.g., 85-88% = 1 mark).
  6. Detention Policy:
    • Failure to maintain the minimum required attendance percentage (85% for most programs, 70% for BBA-LLB, LLB, LLM) or obtain condonation will result in detention in that course.
    • Special cases for condonation include medical grounds (up to 10%) and participation in extracurricular activities (up to 10%).
